Active Ingredients
Alginate (Marine Polysaccharides)
The alginate in our Native Algae Mask is derived from brown algae which plays a significant role in fighting skin ageing. Our hero ingredient can also absorb more than several hundred times its weight in water and forms a gel like consistency on the skin once hydrated. This gel like mask seals in moisture and helps to tighten the skin.4
Calcium
Calcium is one of the fundamental skin nutrients that helps to balance our skin. In healthy human skin an epidermal calcium-gradient is build, which is important for controlling the maturation of corneocytes, differentiation of keratinocytes and cell turnover. Additionally, calcium is known to stimulate a variety of processes including the building of water channels (Aquaporins) and the reactivation of the cohesion between cells (e.g. formation of desmosomes).1-3
